Wellington Rec win Linda Welshman Memorial Cup

Wellington Rec II win the Linda Welshman Memorial Cup by defeating 3rd Ballyclare OB in a penaltyshoot-out on Friday Evening.

The Old Boys went in front after Jason Cowan scored on the 10th minute and this goal separated the teams at half-time. This goal was still the difference between the teams as time was running out then on the 88th minute Jonathan McManus scored the equaliser for the Rec. As no extra-time was played in the early rounds of the competition it went to a penalty shoot-out with the Rec winning by 10 conversions to 9 against.

The Cup was presented to the winning Captain Jamie Magill by the league Vice Chairman Mr. Robert Fenton

The Crawford Cup which is the Last Final of the season was to be played on Friday 2nd June but this clashes with the Chimney Corner Club Annual Dinner. As well Coagh United are involved in the play offs for a place in the NIFL Premier Intermediate League. 

A new date will have to be arranged prior to the 8th June 2023 


WAKEHURST                          2          0          DUNLOY

This game saw Wakehurst early on attack but they had to wait until the 33rd minute before Jason Paul scored putting them in front and they still led at half-time. Dunloy came more into the game on the second half, but it was Wakehurst who claimed the points when Jason Paul secured the win with his second goal on the 88th minute.                Referee Mr Marty Woods

St JAMES SWIFTS                   0          2          COOKSTOWN YOUTH

This was very close game with between two evenly matched teams during the first half. The second half continued similar to the first-half then the Youth went in front after Robbie Brown scored on the 73rd minute. The Swifts had to chase the game after this then Robbie Brown secured the win for the Youth when he scored his second goal on the 92nd minute.                    Referee Mr Paul Berry

COAGH UNITED                      0          1          DONEGAL CELTIC

What should have been a celebration match for Coagh as league winners turned out to be a bit of a disappointment as Donegal Celtic lodged a complaint with the league regarding the standing of a Coagh Player registration. As it was the only goal was scored by Sean Morelli on the 47thminute for Donegal Celtic.   Referee Mr Matthew Gillian



The Islanders took an early lead after Cameron Long scored on the 4th minute. The Martins got back level after Peter Evans scored on the 20th minute then went in front after Daniel Robinson scored on the 37th minute. The Islanders git back level after Cameron Long scored his second goal on the 42nd minute putting the teams, level at half-time. The Martins went back in front after Reuben Bell scored on the 46th minute followed by goals scored by Rhys Campbell 47th minute, Daniel Robinson 62nd minute, Reuben Bell 65th minute and a penalty conversion on the 67th minute.   Referee Mr Colin Rainey
