Weather does not deter Parkruns

The inclement weather didn’t deter the weekend parkruns with a good number of participants turning out. Garvagh Forest, event 113 – 45 completed the course. James McCann (21:26) was the fastest finisher for the second time from six consistent attempts. Springwell’s Bernadette O’Kane (21:26) was the fastest female for the 24th time from 27 appearances here.

Limavady, event 374 – 38 completed the course. Denise McManus joined the 25 Club. Springwell Running Club provided the fastest three finishers. Chris Denton (18:00) was the fastest finisher for the twelfth time from his last twelve efforts here. Fiona Prue needed a course PB of 20:21 to take the fastest female accolade narrowly ahead of third place Ciara McSherry. 

Limepark Playing Fields, event sixty-three – Forty completed the course. James Lyons and Florence O’Neill joined the 50 Club. Samantha Doey (21:59) was the fastest finisher. At each of her four efforts here, she has improved her time on every visit. The veteran Martin Lundy (22:14), representing Marple Runners, was the fastest male for the first time.

Portrush, event 525 – 155 completed the course. Colm Ross joined the 100 Club. Simon Hogg joined the 50 Club. David O’Connor joined the 25 Club. Brian O’Connor (19:44), visiting from England, was the only person to break twenty minutes. Fastest female for the 28th time was Laura Watters, who clocked 24:34 in unfavourable conditions.
