Tommy Elder on target to earn Balnamore Steele and Sons Shield

Balnamore’s ace striker Tommy Elder popped up with the only goal of the game to earn Balnamore the Steele and Sons Shield, sponsored by the Railway Arms, Coleraine,

On an evening of dark clouds and a smattering of rain, Heights and Balnamore served up a worthy final of hard tackling, good football and above all a highly sporting to lighten the spirit of a good sized crowd who attended the final.

In the end, only Tommy Elder’s first half strike from the spot separated the teams at the final whistle to send Balnamore back to North Antrim with the prestigious trophy as a just reward for a good season of hard work and dedication.

Following the final, Dessie Bradley, League Chairman, congratulated both teams on an excellent and entertaining final and thanked Portstewart for the use of their facilities.
