This game itself won’t live long in the memory

But no one will care about that after Jamie McGonigle’s last gasp winner sealed a crucial win.

STEPHEN LOMAS discussed Saturday’s game with Causeway Chronicle’s  MICHAEL ANDERSON

With the fixtures coming up, victory against Glenavon was a necessity and the boys delivered.

Let’s be honest. It was a terrible game.

But on the run we have been on, the performance becomes irrelevant.

All that mattered was getting those three points.

Suddenly we jump back to sixth and hopefully the players can kick on now.

No one will get carried away after one result but it should boost confidence in the camp.

There will be a huge sense of relief all round at ending the losing streak.

It’s one small step in the right direction and with a bit of luck it unlocks the shackles.

Looking at the bigger picture, we should all know exactly what the future holds for the club in the next few weeks and that can only be a good thing.
