Strabane finish season on a high

MAIDEN CITY      0       STRABANE ATHLETIC 3

The O’Gorman Cup final brought the curtain down on an exciting Ballymena Premier League season. This was the last competitive game of the season within the league and it got off to an explosive start when Darren McMonagle scored for Athletic from outside the penalty box with only 45 seconds of the game played.

After this early excitement, things settled down but it was Strabane who looked the more dangerous going forward and this led to Aaron McCready scoring the second goal of the game on the 11th minute.

Both teams played a lot of good football after this then on the 35th minute Warner Mullan scored a third goal for Strabane to leave Maiden City facing an uphill battler.

.The second half saw both teams play well with a few good chances for each to score but no more goals were scored before full-time.

After the Final whistle the League Chairman Ian Shiels presented the O’Gorman Cup to the winning Captain Luke McGeehan.
