Portstewart entertain newly promoted Coagh United

It’s all systems go for the start of the Playr-Fit Premier Intermediate League with the fixture schedule now released!

Playr-Fit were this week announced as the new title sponsors of the Premier Intermediate League and Championship, and the battle for a place in senior football kicks off on Saturday 26 August.

The newly expanded 14 team division will see all clubs play each other home and away to complete a 26 match campaign, with the eventual winners claiming a place in next season’s Championship.

The standout fixture in the opening round of Premier Intermediate League games is a big Lisburn derby at New Grosvenor Park as Lisburn Distillery welcome neighbours Ballymacash Rangers to start the season in style.

Warrenpoint Town’s journey back up the NI Football League will begin with a trip to Moyola Park for Barry Gray’s men, the Castledawson side will be ground-sharing at the Coleraine Showgrounds this season.

The two newly promoted sides face a tough introduction to life in the Premier Intermediate League as Coagh United travel to Portstewart, whilst Iveagh Park hosts Irish League football for the first time as Rathfriland Rangers entertain Queens University.

In the other games on the opening weekend, Armagh City take on Tobermore United, Limavady United host Banbridge Town and PSNI are at home to Dollingstown.
