O’Donnell expresses disappointment at being transfer listed as . . .

Bannsiders linked with Scottish trio

The transfer rumour mill is in full swing, and Coleraine have been linked with a treble swoop in Scotland.

It comes as skipper Stephen O’Donnell becomes the latest player to be placed on the transfer list.

Dean Shiels is rebuilding his squad as the Bannsiders go full time.

Several players have already departed.

And with pre season training commencing on June 29, the club is working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring in new faces.

Three players are being linked with Coleraine – Fraser Taylor from St. Mirren, Kyle McClelland of Hibernian and Declan Glass, formerly of Dundee United.

Midfielder Fraser was on loan last season at Ballymena United.

The creative midfielder was one of the stars in the Irish League.

Hibs defender McClelland is a Northern Ireland youth international.

Capped at Under 16 and Under 17 level, he has been on loan at Falkirk, Cove Rangers and latterly Queen of the South where he was voted Player of the Year.

McClelland is also believed to be interesting Glentoran.

Glass is a midfielder who was on the books of Dundee United.

He has also had loan spells at Airdrie, Partick Thistle, Cove Rangers, Kilmarnock and Derry City.

Skipper O’Donnell was transfer listed on Wednesday evening.

“I’m disappointed not to be offered the chance to take the next step with the club,” said the defender known to team mates as Stevie ‘O’.

“It’s been an amazing eight years and thanks to the fans and everyone around the club for your support.

“I’m excited to see what the next chapter holds.”
