Northern Ireland stop Surf Select’s bid for two in a row

Northern Ireland prevented Surf Select from claiming their second title in a row, as Northern Ireland hammered the American side 4-0 at Dixon Park, Ballyclare, in the Girls’ Premier final.

Bernie Ferreira stole the show at Ballyclare with a brilliant hat-trick to end her week in style, but Anastasija Stanyte stole the headlines bagging another goal to go home with the golden boot award in the Premier section.  The Northern Irish player ended the tournament with four goals to her name.

The Globe Final went the way of Irish outfit Shelbourne at The Diamond in Rathcoole.  Goals from Hannah Healy, Savannah Kane, Katie Ray and Emma Gaughran sealed a 4-0 victory for Shelbourne over Americans Northeast Rush. 

The Vase Final was treated to a brace from Robyn Gleeson as her Shamrock Rovers side beat Scottish giants Rangers 3-0 at Mossley Park to pick up the trophy.  


There was penalty heartbreak for Linfield in the Girls’ Premier Section Final.  The Belfast side lost 6-5 to Surf Select in the shootout after drawing 2-2 with the Americans in normal time.  Alexa Barajas capped off her tournament to remember with another brace. 

This secured the number nine the golden boot award for the Junior Section with nine goals.  Linfield’s Charlotte Havern also bagged a brace, but she ultimately missed out on the golden boot scoring one less than her Surf Select counterpart.  

In the Girls’ Junior Section Globe final, United States SSA were triumphant thanks to a 2-0 win over Northern Irish side Crusaders at Rathcoole.  

The Vase final saw FC America beat Ballyclare Comrades 7-1 at Monkstown to be crowned champions.
