‘Monster Kick’ held at Coleraine Showgrounds

With Hallowe’en just around the corner, Coleraine FC BTEC Sports Students organised a monster kicks football coaching event at the Showgrounds on Friday, October 26 with Ballysally PS.

Monster kicks is an initiative supported by Sports Direct UK with the aim of increasing participation numbers in football within Primary Schools across the UK.

80 children from Ballysally PS took part in the event on a sun kissed morning at the Showgrounds, which started off with a quick tour of the first team gym and changing area, allowing pupils to be photographed sitting in their favourite players seat.

A certain Mr. Lyndon Kane was a firm favourite on the day, with many pupils having dreams of following in his footsteps.

After the tour, it was time for the main event!

45 minutes of fun filled games followed, finished off with 45 minutes of matches.

A special thank you to Eugene McKenna, Games Development Officer for Olympic Handball Ireland for his support on the day, by providing pupils a taster session of handball and for helping to run the event.
