Heavy rain had little effect on league programme

Fortunately, after the heavy rain through the week, Saturday looked to headed for a wash-out, thankfully that did not materialise.

All scheduled games except four were played, only two junior games lost due to no official referees being available.

McReynolds Cup Group 1

BELFAST CELTIC                    6          0          BRANTWOOD

Celtic went in front after Denver Taggart scored on the 5th minute and doubled their advantage after Liam Mitchell scored on the 33rd minute. Celtic went in to score four more goal in the second half through Barry Webb 57th and 87th, Anthony Nelson 73rd and Liam Markey 86th minutes without reply. Referee Mr Terry Foley

St JAMES SWIFTS                   1          0          DONEGAL CELTIC

This was a very closely contested game throughout its entirety and at the final whistle it was a goal scored by Connor Sullivan on the 39th minute that ensured the win to St James Swifts.      Referee Mr Gary Thomsson

Group 2

STRABANE ATHLETC             3          0          MAIDEN CITY

Strabane took an early lead in the game after Aaron O’Hagan scored on the 5th minute and then doubled their advantage after Darren McMonagle scored on the 20th minute. The second half saw City try hard to get on the scoresheet but the only goal in the second half was scored by Darren McMonagle for Strabane on the 73rd minute. Referee Mr Jerome McElroy

NEWTOWNE                           2          2          NEWBUIDINGS UNITED

After a steady start by both teams the first goal was scored by Donal McGilligan for Newtowne on the 42nd minute.  Newbuildings hit back quickly with Jack McClelland scoring on the 47th minute then going in front after Matthew Pierce scored on the 74th minute. Group 3

CHIMNEY CORNER                0          2          RATHCOOLE

Rathcoole had the better chances to go in front in the first half and went in front after Philip Maybin scored on the 21st minute. Rathcoole then went two goals clear after Wesley Patterson scored on the 36th minute and this score remained at half-time. Both teams had a chance to score in the second half but alas no more goals were scored. Referee Mr Mary Woods

WELLINGTON REC                 2          1          WAKEHURST

The Rec went in front in this game after Aaron Smyth scored on the 38th minute and this goal separated the teams until Connor Doherty converted a penalty for Wakehurst on the 60th minute. The Rec replied to this immediately when Graham Kennedy cored on the 62nd minute. After this the main point of interest was the Rec having two men sent off on the 72nd minute, Wakehurst a man sent off on the 94 and the Rec a Third man red carded after the final whistle. Referee Mr Darren Hylands

Group 4

DUNLOY                                  0          0          DESERTMARTIN
