Gunners blasting into the big time

By Michael Anderson

If you’re into your rock and metal, then you won’t want to miss out on one of the hottest bands on the scene.

I’m talking about the mighty Tailgunner…young guns with a nod to the late 80’s.

Think Iron Maiden, Saxon, Judas Priest etc with a modern spin.

Their awesome live shows have earned them a huge following.

And taken those of us brought up on the New Wave of British Heavy Metal back in time to a memorable era.

Launching in January 2022, Tailgunner played two UK headline tours in the first six months, with multiple sold out dates.

They then signed to Fireflash Records in October, subsidiary of Atomic Fire (home to Helloween, Opeth, Meshuggah) working alongside label head Markus Wosgien, CEO of Atomic Fire and formerly of Nuclear Blast, handling PR as he did for bands such as Sabaton, Nightwish, Blind Guardian, HammerFall, Accept, Manowar & many more.

Tailgunner released their debut EP ‘Crashdive’ in December, being sold via mail orders, EMP, Nuclear Blast, Omerch, Vision Merch & the Atomic Fire webstore.

They also secured interviews woth renowned mags Fistful of Metal (UK) Deaf Forever (Germany) as well as other key magazines.

This month – July 14th – saw the worldwide release of their debut album ‘Guns For Hire’, distributed by Warner Music & ADA, and licensed to Japan (Ward Records) and South America (Shinigami).

Press has already been secured in the following: Germany – Metal Hammer, Rock Hard, Deaf Forever, Rocks, Classic Rock, Breakout, Hardline, Piranha/Start & Legacy. UK – Metal Hammer, Fistful of Metal, Fireworks, Zero Tolerance & Powerplay. ROW – Rock Hard (F & IT) Sweden Rocks, Scream (NO) Inferno (FIN) Metalized (DK) La Heavy (ES) Metal Hammer (PL) Spark (CZ) & Decibel (USA) and, of course, Causeway Chronicle online website in Northern Ireland.

The band were personally selected by KK Downing to open the first KK Priest show on July 6 and are currently scheduled to appear at Keep it True Rising (Germany) Call of the Wild Festival (UK) and headline Wildfire Festival (UK) in 2023 before embarking on a UK headline tour in October 2023.

If you love youre music loud and fast, Tailgunner are for you.

These guys are the real deal!

Here’s hoping it’s not too long before they visit these shores for some live shows.
