GOLDIE RESCUES POINT FOR TULLANS

Tullans 3 Ballymoney Utd Res. 3

Tullans recruitment has felt scattergun at the best of times in the past couple of years but the arrival of Friel, Maybin, Bradley, Mailey and Craig has a more obvious backstory.

The new signings; working alongside the current squad displayed some of the rich promise that we like to see at Tullans Park.

It was Ballymoney United who started the stronger of the teams with a 2-0 lead at half time, with some good work between McLaughlin and Munnis.

The Tullans boys bounced back in the second half and determined not to lose the contest worked hard with Bradley finding space down the left hand side, hitting the bar before Reece White scored from close range.

A few minutes later good work from Raymond Maybin left Bradley with a tap in from a few yards out to bring the score back to 2-2. Ballymoney regained the lead through a dubious penalty decision but it was Jason Goldie who scored the equaliser for Tullans who were badly in need of a few points to keep themselves in contention of remaining in the Morning Championship division.

Special thanks to Robert McCaw for officiating the match and to Chequers Riverside for sponsoring today’s game.
