Coleraine seek historic win

Coleraine will bid to make a bit of history at the Oval on Wednesday night.

The Bannsiders take on Glentoran in the semi final European Play Off clash.

Victory and a Bank Holiday final against either Crusaders or Carrick Rangers awaits.

To get to that lucrative decider, Oran Kearney’s side will have to do something no Coleraine team has managed in the Play Off’s…win a match!

Their first experience of the exciting end of season Euro deciders was in 2016 against this week’s opponents .

It was fifth v sixth that night but Coleraine lost 2-1 to the Glens at the Showgrounds.

2019 saw a dramatic semi final to Cliftonville 5-3 at Solitude.

In 2022 current champions Larne won their semi final 2-0 at Inver Park.

And in last season’s semi final, Cliftonville came out on top 2-1 at Solitude.

Here’s hoping Coleraine’s luck changes at the Oval on Wednesday!* Thanks to Hunter McClelland
