Coleraine confirm McClelland signing

Coleraine has confirmed the signing of central defender Kyle McClelland on a season-long loan from Hibernian FC . . . as Causeway Chronicle revealed on Monday.

The 22-year-old brings strength and versatility to the defensive line-up, bolstering the squad ahead of the new season.

McClelland moved to Hibernian after progressing through the ranks at Glasgow Rangers.

Over the last couple of seasons, he has been on loan at Cove Rangers and Queen of the South, where he was voted Player of the Year last season.

Kyle has also represented Northern Ireland up to U21 level.

“This is a big step in my career,” said Kyle.

“I think this move is going to make me a better man overall and give me more experience.

“I had a good phone call with the gaffer and he told me about the club and their expectations and where he wanted the club to go.

“Everything he said was a big part of why I wanted to come here. I’m ust buzzing to get started to be honest with you.”

Showgrounds Head Coach, Dean Shiels, also shared his excitement about the new signing.
