Coleraine and Glens cancel each other out in Showgrounds dull draw

It’s a game that certainly won’t live long in the memory!

Coleraine and Glentoran served up a shocker in Monday’s Sky televised game.

Stephen Lomas gives his thoughts on a dull 0-0 draw.

It certainly wasn’t one for the purists!

Both team cancelled each other out and there was a distinct lack of quality and ideas from both teams.

Ricky Wade was a guest of the club on Monday.

How the game could have done with someone of his ability!

Goalscoring from  midfielders seems to be a dying art.

Coleraine just seem to be lacking consistency in the level of their performances and that must be so frustrating for Oran.

Although they had the best of the few chances, Glentoran look a mile off being challengers.

The teams are fifth and sixth in the table and that game showed why.

Conor McKendry missing was a big blow and although Matthew Shevlin was back and worked his socks off, he got little or no service.

Yes he could have won it near the end but that would probably have been unjust on the Glens.

If the quality balls don’t come into the box, Shevy isn’t going to reach the goals tally he got last season.

On a positive note, it was encouraging to keep another clean sheet.

That’s two on the spin in the league and something to build on.
