Coleraine Act of Remembrance before Glentoran game

Coleraine Football Club held their annual Act of Rermbrance at the Showgrounds before Monday evening’s game with Glentoran at the Ballycastle Road Showgrounds.

The proceedings were under the auspices of Club Chaplain Rev. Malcolm Ferry and those taking part were Rev. Malcolm Farry, Club Chaplain; Richard McFetridge, Club Director; William Murphy, assistant manager; John Knight, Garvagh and Kilrea Supporters’ Club; Alan McMillan, Steward; Raymond Smyth, Director, Coleraine Football Club; Councillor Steven Callaghan, Mayor, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council; Jack Anderson, Ballymoney Coleraine Supporters’ Club; David Campbell, Wesley Gregg Supporters’ Club; Paddy Peacock, Spirit of 74 Coleraine Supporters’ Club and Mark Kane, Club Director.

Following the Act of Remembrance, both Coleraine and Glentoran players and match officials bowed at the centre circle to observe a two-minute silence in memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice during two world wars and theatres of conflict across the world.

Glentoran Football Club laid a wreath at the centre-circle prior to kick-off as Coleraine Showgrounds fell completely silent as a mark of respect,
