Awful weather condidtions don’t deter Portrush Parkrun enthusiasts

Garvagh Forest, event 130 – 39 completed the course. Springwell’s Peter Tees (19:05) was fastest finisher for the fourth time from eight visits. Gordon Linton also just about secured a sub-twenty minute effort. Samantha Doey (23:24) was the fastest female.

Limavady, event 390 – Thirty-three completed the course. There were three sub-twenty minute finishers: Paul Kearney (18:38 course PB), Martin O’Doherty (18:40), and Ryan Kennedy (19:37).  The fastest female was Rachel McKeever (22:43 course PB).

Limepark Playing Fields, event – 75 completed the course. Irwin Watt joined the 25 Club. Jack Magrath (20:32) was the fastest finisher on his first visit here. Ballycastle’s Karen Woods (27:31 course PB) was this week’s fastest female.

Portrush, event 544 – 102 finished the course in awful weather conditions. Frances B Smyth made it to 350 parkruns, 147 of which were completed at Portrush beach. Stuart Vaux recorded his three hundredth parkrun, with 279 of his efforts at this location. Stephen Greer got his barcode scanned for the two hundredth time, with 187 recorded at Portrush. Ivan Goldsworthy recorded his 150th, with 135 Portrush parkruns to his name. Springwell’s Aisling Hynes joined the 100 Club, with all but eight of her runs at this venue. Kim Hamilton joined the 25 Club. Andy Whiteford (20:49) was the fastest finisher for the second time. He is currently on an impressive roll of eighteen top ten finishes at this event. Laura Watters (23:29) was the fastest female for the sixth time this year.
