Artist Shauna just loves the Northern Ireland Countryside

Shauna McAteer, a local artist based in Limavady has fallen in love with Northern Ireland.

Shauna says: “Northern Ireland’s landscape is extremely beautiful, fiercely vibrant and refreshingly rich. A lot of my work has been and is inspired by this unique and abundant landscape.

“With tourism in Northern Ireland being a world leader, trailblazing with absolute strength, I really hope I can depict this land with my own signature style and do it the justice it deserves.

“As long as I can remember I have been drawing, painting, and creating art.

“In finding my own unique signature style as I’ve mentioned, not only have I fallen in love with all things art and design I’ve also fallen even more in love with the land, the rawness of it and the picturesque feel of the countryside.

“Whilst I am mainly a painter with a modern edge and a loosely abstract interpretation. I also am a printmaker, textile artist and a designer.

“I’m proud of my country and its diverseness. I really hope this comes through in every piece I create”, she told Mayor Stephen Callaghan.
